We'd like to introduce you all to Storm. A stunning, loving little cat who would make a perfect companion.
Storm came to Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue around 3 months ago after being found injured on someone's doorstep. It later transpired that she had most likely been struck by a car and has dragged herself away to get help.
Storm suffered some minor cuts and wounds which have all healed perfectly. She also suffered a dislocated hip which despite umpteen attempts to set it in place was adamant that it was not going to stay put!
This was most likely due to the time taken between the accident and her managing to find help. Storm has undergone intensive veterinary treatment by Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue and after weeks of cage rest and careful monitoring is now ready to find her new home.
As mentioned above, Storm's hip could not be set back in place perfectly and as such it is not 'quite' positioned correctly. This does cause Storm to limp however she can walk and get around perfectly well.
It causes Storm no pain and she does not require ongoing veterinary treatment for her hip in any way. In old age there is the possibilty of the hip being affected by arthritis however likewise this often comes with old age itself.
We would urge anyone who is interested in adopting Storm and has concerns over this to contact Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue to discuss further.
Storm will require an indoor home away from the hazards of the outdoors as she is not quite as agile as she once was. Sunny Harbour Cat Rescue will provide all back up support that her new family require and advice on how to care for Storm as she builds up the strength in her hip and leg following weeks of cage rest.
Storm is a cat that would be suited as a companion cat and would make a perfect cuddle cat. Storm just adores company and attention not to mention all of life's little comforts such as cosy warm spots to curl up in.
Update 18/04/09: We are thrilled to report that Storm has finally found her forever home and is settling in well. We look forward to an update on her progress very soon.
